I’m here today to talk about the three things you want to avoid when making a video.

I’m not gonna include clowns in this list because that should be obvious. Clowns are scary and have no place in any video.

The first thing you wanna avoid when making a video is having unreasonable expectations for time. We get calls all the time from potential clients who need their videos written, filmed, and edited, and they want it all finished within three weeks. We just can’t do it that quickly while maintaining any sort of quality. Making sure you have enough time budgeted will really ensure you have a great looking video that meets your expectations for quality. Remember, we want your video to look as amazing as possible.

Making Good Video Content

The second thing you want to avoid is having unreasonable expectations with your budget.

Now we always advise people to ask around to get multiple quotes for video projects. If someone gives you a quote that seems too good to be true, then it probably is.

The last thing to avoid when making a video is having too many cooks in the kitchen.

Figuring out who the decision makers are on your side will save you time and money. If you have eight people who all need to weigh in independently on your team, it will take a lot more time to make big decisions. Especially in the editing phase, this can be costly. Getting eight people to agree on what’s for lunch can be exhausting and time-consuming. Imagine getting eight people to agree on which of four takes had a better performance. Scary, right?
