In Pacoima, a poverty-stricken neighborhood of Los Angeles, five at-risk students fight to overcome the trauma, homelessness and violence in their low-income community. With the odds stacked against them, they find their ticket out of the disadvantaged environment. It is a school that tailors the curriculum and wraparound services to the individual needs of each student by offering a personalized learning plan versus the one-size-fits all education system.
